The J. Kirby Simon Foreign Service Trust (“the Trust”) was established by John and Claire Simon in memory of their son J. Kirby Simon, a Foreign Service Officer who died in 1995 while serving in Taiwan. John (a professor of law) and Claire were truly remarkable people who turned their personal tragedy into a legacy of supporting others. We mourn their passing. John died on Valentine's Day 2022, and Claire on Christmas Day, 2023. Somehow that seems fitting, given their loving and generous impulse to create the Trust. Thanks to their generous bequest, we hope to continue to Trust in the years to come.
